Ma Mere

Happy Birthday to Kat!! Dad, mom and Michael stopped through Tallahassee last night on their way home from Radcliffe summer road trip to Virginia and our nation's capital. We also got a chance to celebrate mom's birthday which is today. I love everything about birthdays. I even get excited for strangers' birthdays and I celebrate my own all month long. So last night was a special celebration for a very lovely lady, ma mere.

We had a wonderful dinner at Food Glorious Food and then everyone came to my house. As I hosted my first fete, we indulged in delicious cake from The Cake Shop and open gifts. I was just so happy that we were able to all be together even if it was just for the evening. For mom and dad living in Ocala, they sure make time to come visit Holly, Marcus and me quite often and we love every minute of it! We always try to fit as much in as we can and we do a pretty good job at that because we have Holly "the plan" Edenfield. Well I guess it's more tag team...I suggest all the places we should shop and dine and she ensures there's no backtracking :)

So mom after you finally remember that I have a blog, then try to find the piece of scrap paper in your purse that I wrote my blog address on--I hope that upon your arrival this brings a smile to your face. You have unconditional love for your family and we feel the same back. I hope that you have a fabulous birthday!! Eat good food, laugh and live it up!

Also, last night was a double-header on guests. Around 10:00pm my dear friend Carolyn came for a quick sleepover visit as she was on her way to Atlanta from Delray Beach. She's in the transition of moving from Washington D.C. to Atlanta. I'm so glad she will be living in a fabulous city and one that is only 4 hours away! She was my first official, non-family, house guest. I gave her a quick tour of my new home and clearly warned her to not be fooled by the clean, organized facade of the interior of my house (look below eye level and you'll see boxes of stuff neatly hidden under furniture). Caro also got to experience using my laptop in my closet (for internet signal) and trying to not trip over tv cables stretching across my bedrooms. She left this morning as I left for work and even though it was a very quick visit we still managed to lie awake talking and catching up instead of sleep :) It's even the quickest of visits with friends that I adore!
(Oh, I almost forgot to mention the best thing about Carolyn, and it's so fitting for this blog entry--we share the same birthday!! Isn't that marvy?!)

As the events wind down from moving to house guests I'm looking forward to the upcoming weekend as I will actually be staying in Tallahassee. Bella Flora has a big wedding to do this weekend and prep work begins tomorrow night. I hope to find sometime between now and then to catch a quick nap seeing as I missed my interstate exit for Quincy this morning and had to go practically to Pensacola before I could turn around. Here's to my coffee this am!

Please tell me I'm not the only one who is going to leave comments on this blog ... but I feel I'm starting to get that repuatation :)

This is a classic Radcliffe post - in purest form. Happy Birthday to Kat AND I must second the "sweet shirt" from Air and Space. ;)
