This crib has been through 4 generations and it is the most precious thing. It currently resides in my
former bedroom in Ocala {yes, former...I don't even have a room anymore - don't even get me started!}. When my brother used it as a baby, it was the only crib my mother used. Once Michael began to crawl, he simply kicked out the screen and would crawl out when ready!
As you may have guessed it the crib first belonged to my grandmother, Mary Elizabeth - which I believed I've referenced before. It was ordered by her parents in 1915 through the Sears & Roebuck catalog. Generation after generation it has been repaired, repainted, and revamped to its current condition shown below.

The girls traveled to Ocala this past weekend to celebrate ME's 95th birthday! Mom planned a fabulous party Friday night and friends and family were there to toast this amazing woman. The rest of the weekend was just what I needed - lunch at Latinos, downtown shopping with mom, visit with friends, and sleep. Here's a glimpse of what we did...
friday night birthday party! mom made a delicious chocolate cake with seafoam icing - ME's favorite and the kind her mom used to bake for her
a collage of young mary elizabeth...what I loved the most: the bigger the bow, the better!
flowers from her family
the grandsons took turns repainting the shed out back this summer...michael finished an hour before the party. I'm beginning to think the new acrobatic tricks he learned and performed for us this weekend were the reason the painting got finished just in the nick of time! my grandpa phillip owned gulf stations and I love this vintage sign.
sally kate and her ruffles were at the party!

happy birthday to you
m & d...the color of the party was bright green :)

on saturday morning we visited heather lane's cousins for some catching up and decorating advice. here are sk, liza, and rebecca.
we love this family! I babysat liza, rebecca, and brent since they were each newborns...my, how they've grown. liza is even old enough now to have her own e-mail address - so we exchanged :)
and just another photo shoot with sk after church on sunday...
i wish you could see her whole dress...i bought it at the rosemary beach outdoor festival and it's made of a beautiful colored embroidered pillowcase...will follow up with a close up of the detail.

Awww...sweet David.
So cool about the crib! But when I click on the pic of sk in the crib, it takes me to the pic of the Radcliffe siblings...weird man!
I want some of that cake!
Exactly ... what is seafoam icing?! ... not that I doubt for a second that it tastes divine!
well...seafoam is a 7 minute frosting but made with brown sugar! if you need anything more technical ask Kat :)
And LG, Kat says to tell you she's wants some of that cake too b/c all hers is gone. I'm working on having her make one on their next visit!
What an amazing crib story! How neat to have those pictures, as well! I love it! And I love your whole sweet family. What a fun party and SK is just getting cuter- if it's possible!
