I'd rather be eating pizza

I had the most wonderful weekend full of new events and good company. As much as I like to travel, I love a good Friday night in Tallahassee. There's something special about 5 o'clock on a Friday afternoon when you don't have to hop in your car and travel 2+ hours somewhere.

David and I went to the First Friday Gallery Hop and it was so fun! We both had never been but it's been on the list. We only had enough time to go to Railroad Square to look around and it was quite the adventure. You might say there's a different breed that frequents that area...and I'm sure they're looking at me asking "why is she here"? But I love being around those people some time. Very hippie, very cool.

Then we were off to Mockingbird Cafe in Havana. They had given me a New Year's card and gift certificate for being a good 2009 patron :) We sat in the music room and our food was delicious, as always. We got some big news that night. The MC will be moving to Tallahassee! As exciting as this adventure is for them, I am so sad. You see this was my mid-week lunch escape. I'm going to miss my to-go orders and meeting friends there for lunch. On the flip side...their new venue is right down the street from my house which brings joy for Saturday lunches and Sunday brunches! One of the most exciting things is that they'll be featuring tons of great live music in their new digs.

On Saturday, we couldn't stand it any longer and had to travel outside of Tallahassee for the day, well, actually we just had tickets to Gator basketball game that afternoon. So we decided to make a day out of it! We went to some antique stores south of Lake City and in historic Micanopy. The weather was beautiful and we found some neat stuff but we plan to go back soon when we have more time.

The basketball game was great and a dear friend had given us her tickets on the 3rd row!! Talk about fun. I can't even remember {if any} the last Gator basketball game I had gone to. We left the O'Connell center with a victory to celebrate. We went to Satchels Pizza and I was happy. Satchels is such a funky place and their pizza is yummy! On our way, we picked up David's sister Allison and had a great evening with her. Our dining experience was also adventurous but I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Sunday was relaxing and the only thing on my to-do list was to take a nap. check. We heard an amazing African boys and girls choir at church on Sunday morning{brought tears of joy to my eyes} and also celebrated David's Grandpa's birthday. Did you know it was also Super Bowl Sunday?? I watched about a total of 5 minutes of it.

Happy Monday and enjoy my weekend in pictures!
