birmingham bliss

I love Birmingham, Alabama. Heck, I love all of Alabama! I was there this past weekend to celebrate Page and Eric's upcoming wedding. This is the only shower I've been able to go to and I've been so bummed because I don't ever like to miss a party! Some family friends hosted a fun Home & Patio Party on Friday night and I happily attended. I loved the way dinner was served and there's a photo to enjoy below.

But it was not only the party that was marvy but all the rest of the "musts" we packed in to our weekend. I arrived around lunch time on Friday and Meghan drove in from Georgia. We immediately hopped in the car and headed to one of my favorite areas ~ Homewood. We ate at this fabulous restaurant called Zoe's - a semi-fast, healthy, savory Greek restaurant - that we were contemplating several times throughout the weekend to go back a second or third time! We be-bopped through downtown Homewood and frequented some of my favorite shops {at home, three sheets...}. Then had ice cream from Soho Sweets which was right next door to where Page's wedding rehearsal dinner will be in just a little over a month. A couple more shopping stops and day one was almost exhausted.

On Saturday we did my three most favorite weekend activities...actually my three favorite activities anytime...we slept late {well just me :)}, we ate at two fabulous restaurants, and we shopped at an outdoor mall. I had requested that we go to Bottega so off we went. Sister, Heather Lane and I went here on a girls weekend in February 2009. The flavor is out of this world and the decor is quite swanky itself. A whole group of family and friends went to La Paz for dinner in Mountain Brook. Oh my, this was my favorite place. I will go ahead a deem it the "Latinos of Birmingham!" After stuffing my face with their roasted tomato salsa and their salsa verde I had the best salad. It had citrus-marinated grilled chicken, fresh avacado, chunky mango salsa and topped with a jalepeno vinaigrette...I'm talking really good.

Sunday was time to say goodbye to dear friends who I still wished lived in Tallahassee. Luckily, I will see them and the rest of the gang multiple times before Page becomes a Mrs. Here's looking forward to a fun and sassy bachelorette weekend in Destin!

I used incorrect grammar in my last post. Ooops.

We'll try again.

I'm hopping in your suitcase the next time you go out of town! Everything looked amazing!
