island work

This is where I spent my work day yesterday. Up at 5:30 am to drive down to St. George Island - not a bad reason to wake up early and go to work. We currently have two residential projects going on on the island. One is a complete house renovation {shown above} and the other is merely a more redecorating project...on a grande scale. We made a quick site visit to check on things early Tuesday morning at the renovation project and were so pleased with the progress we saw. Things are coming together quite nicely and I'm excited to show you the finished project, as I have been the one to make all decisions and manage the project.

As our office is located 2 hours away from the site, it makes my day to see our specs and printouts of my numerous daily e-mails displayed on the wall...

Here is a peek into the tiny master bathroom. None of the tile grout is in but the shower is taking shape and it looks fabulous...
A close up {that would be marble mosaic tile on the floor, bench, etc.}...

Last but not least, we spent the remainder of our day at this beauty in The Plantation. Picture actually doesn't do it justice - it's just exquisite. Inside is even better...3 floors of thick Mexican terracotta tiled floors and antique Persian rugs. Not your average beach house...

All in a days work. Two projects, both beach houses, but entirely different in every detail. Just one of the many reasons I love being an interior designer. Speaking of which, I went to lunch today with one of my closest ID school friends, Lauren...or Frances Lauren {her given name} as I like to call her. She lives in Chicago now and we hadn't seen each other since we graduated, gasp, three years ago. Of course we went to the Mockingbird Cafe and had a lovely lunch outside. It was great to catch up on life, love, and design.

So pretty! Can't wait to see the finished product!
I guess I'll let you get by with lunch at the MC without me.....I went two weeks ago without you so now we're even! :) We won't count the time when we were there at the same time, but not together! LOL
