weddings, parties, and flowers, oh my!

My weekend was full and in turn I was fulfilled. My house smelled delicious and I had to dodge buckets of fresh flowers and greenery all weekend. I had three flower gigs folks. It was exhausting work but some of the best work in my opinion. On Thursday, beach client #2 had asked me to do some arrangements for the Bridesmaid Luncheon she was hosting on Saturday. dream come true. The rehearsal dinner and wedding were done by Bella Flora and while Kelly worked on the Apalach wedding, her sister Kasey and I covered a Tallahassee wedding for her at Goodwood. Back to that in a bit. So anyway, Thursday. I picked up fresh flowers bright and early Thursday morning and drove down to the island. We also had a second installation for beach client # 2 so everything worked out perfectly. I loved the flowers and the client was very pleased. I was even able to purchase some extra deep pink garden roses, that would be used in the wedding bouquets, from Kelly. So even more so everything was intertwined. Now let's talk about those garden roses. They were absolutely heavenly! They were huge, peony-like, and the smell was so beautifully fragrant you could smell them across the room.

Back in the city {Tallahassee} I worked Thursday night, Friday night and Saturday with Kasey on the Goodwood wedding and reception. I just love working with Kasey! We have the goofiest time. Luckily this wedding wasn't as labor intensive as some so we were able to leisurely work through it. The reception was in the new Carriage House I've mentioned a time or two and is available to rent. It's just a great venue all around and best part is that it's fabulously hidden smack dab in the middle of town.

On Sunday I was happy to do a few arrangements for The Tallahassee Ballet's Winedown @ Midtown. It was a lovely event and a great fundraiser for the ballet. This year's wine was a lot better than the food but the flowers were top notch!

David kindly asked in the midst of the flower weekend if I ever did any arrangements that didn't include hydrangeas?! The short answer is no :) And for the record I wouldn't mind living in a flower shop surrounded by flowers all day long. I got a glimpse of it this past weekend and I do think I would flourish quite nicely!
