a full and spunky life

Dear family and friends,

Last night Grandmother Mary Elizabeth went to be with the Lord. She lived a full and spunky 95 1/2 years! Born in North Carolina, she moved to Marion County after college and was a school teacher for many decades. I think she's all taught us in some way, shape or form. If you weren't a pupil in her classroom you were one in her living room - learning your history and genealogy, whether you wanted to or not.

Please keep my mom and her brothers, along with their families, in your thoughts and prayers. It's difficult to loose anyone but we are thankful for her longevity and love. If you had any interaction with Grandmother ME at any point in your life you know she never ceased to amaze you.

We will miss her but we know she is in a better place most likely dancing around to Alley Cat, directing people around, and asking her new friends in heaven "where are your people from?!".

In God's Love,
mary caroline

After you called last night I was thinking of Grandmother ME and how I would remember her ... the first word that popped into my head was the one in the title of this post, spunky! She lived a full & beautiful life and left quite a legacy with her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren. It was an honor to know Mary Elizabeth Townsend, and I know she will be missed dearly. She always had a sparkle in her eye, something funny to say ... and I dare say, she was the original Sassy Magnolia. Love her. Prayers to the entire family ... we're thinking of you. xoxoxo

All my love to you and your family. Even though I only met Grandmother Mary Elizabeth a couple times, she left a lasting impression on me. I also know she was a wonderul woman because she produced a daughter and two granddaughters whom I absolutely adore, your mom, you and Holly :-)You all will be in our prayers continually. Please let me know if you need anything at all or just need to talk.

Love you xoxo

Ella
