valentine tea

Happy Valentine's Day

On Saturday I was showered with another fabulous wedding soiree! Friends Laura Lee, Holly, Kelly and Kasey hosted a lovely Valentine's Tea for me. Everything was just exquisite and delicious! Laura Lee served jasmine tea purchased on a trip to Hong Kong a few years ago. Let me tell you how delicious and fragrant it was. We nibbled on traditional tea fare such as orange cranberry scones, petits fours, and cucumber sandwiches.

Dr. Fisher provided the entertainment at the shower as she recited love sonnets and quizzed us on biblical and secular romances. She dedicated it to Grandmother Mary Elizabeth as she was an avid Shakespeare reader. It was so delightful and fun!

Kelly arranged beautiful home grown camellias and I was in heaven! Luckily I got to take a piece of them home with me to enjoy. Also, a huge thanks to Lane who took all the great pictures at the Tea - thank you! I was so happy to celebrate my second shower and look forward to the rest!

On Sunday, our engagement announcement was published in the Tallahassee Democrat and Ocala Star Banner! And last night David took me to go see Bill Cosby speak as part of FSU's Seven Days of Opening Nights. I hope you have a wonderful Valentine's day too!

On to shower pictures...

a beautiful heart shaped wreath of camellias greeted guests at the front door ~
I wore my grandma jean's pink wedding hat and everyone loved it! I also learned that the dress she wore was matching pink...isn't that just fabulous?!

you fancy

The post is way overdue! The month of January has flown away and I tell you it was long, exciting, and quite emotional. But things are looking up and I am counting.down.the.days. until I get to marry David!

And in the meantime there will be lots of parties and showers of sorts! Including one surprise shower that was thrown for me in Birmingham a few weekends ago. I received this invite...

Our annual Ruffles weekend took place over Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend and, well, was quite possibly the most fun weekend ever! We piled in Lane's new ride and met Heather Lane in icy Birmingham for a weekend of celebrations to remember! The Ruffles decided to throw me a ruffly shower while we were all together and since I love invitations and someone we all know and love has a paper business... it was a happy marriage of sorts.

voted wildest senior in high school - lane ruffle was in full effect!

we arrived friday in honor of heather lane's birthday!

in the car on the way to dinner at hot and hot fish club...
rian and pamela ruffle joined the fun this year!

the most amazing dinner and fun! no dinner experience should cause the amount of laughing we shared! we had such a good time the the head chef came to personally let us know he was glad we were enjoying his restaurant and that we felt comfortable enough to have a good time. oh, and food was nothing short of fabulous!
