ta-da!

I firmly believe that good design can only be evolved through time. And so, since I can't put it off any longer because my rooms will never be finished, ...ta-da my new couch!

After 2+ years of living with those stylish pink tuxedo sofas our love/hate relationship had to come to an end. So I got rid of everything - the sofas, the rug...and started over fresh. Now, my next phase I would love to find two stylish {don't have to match} club chairs. New or old, I could always recover them. As long as they don't smell and the price tag is right. I would love to do a green ticking stripe on them. Did you know, I love the color green!?

Mom gave me a 30" round glass top table and made a beautiful tablecloth with 3" bullion trim from some silk remnants I had. That was her "project" last time she was in town visiting - thanks mom!

Easter/spring decor is set and looks rather good with my new digs. Now, enjoy a glimpse and more details of the redecorating:

As you see, I found a neutral colored upholstered couch. The scale was right and so was the price. I love how it transforms my living room. It was luck that I found something that I actually liked. It won't be my forever couch but I could see it being used in other ways down the road. The rolled arms, loose back cushions, and box pleated skirt are my favorite features. I'd prefer exposed wood legs but the tailored skirt was a nice compromise.

Ah, my new green imperial trellis throw pillows. I adore this fabric and so when I saw that this couch was in need of some new pillows {the other ones are still for sale! want to buy them??} I knew exactly who to call. I spotted the Kelly Wearstler designed pattern at this swanky boutique in Rosemary Beach when I was there in the fall - Willow. I called them up, sent them a check, and they were on my doorstep a few days later. They make me so happy! The small leopard pillow was a find at the Whale of a Sale a few weeks ago...it's a Scalamandre custom made accent pillow and I think it's a fabulous little treasure.

some of my favorite books

my new etiquette book and other faves...

nearby my southern accents stack has sadly stopped growing...

So at last my new couch...my new living room...my home - hope you enjoyed it!
