sisters weekend

David left me our first weekend in Birmingham for a Bachelor party in Charleston - how rude! But, I called in the sisters and they came to keep me company and to celebrate Holly sister's 30th birthday! Heather Lane, Sister and Sally Kate came on Friday for a wondeful weekend together. I love those girls so much and miss them all terribly. The good news is that I now only live 3.5 hours away from Heather...the closest we've lived since high school...just shy of ten years. This means road trips to Memphis are in my near future!!

We had the best weekend celebrating the birthday girl and each morning Sally Kate would wake up and say in the sweetest voice "Happy Birthday Mommy". I took them to some of my new favorite eats, sweets and shops.

the birthday spread

there just happens to be a delicious cupcake shop very near our apartment

when sister and sk arrived at supper time on friday, we walked over to saw's bbq. after our tour de bbq, david and I have decided this is the best in birmingham!

heather lane arrived late friday night. but not too late for cupcakes and prosecco...

sally kate was excited to be up late with the girls!

dreamcakes has flavors such as strawberry banana, almond joy {lane g. you can get one of these when you come visit :)}, and maple bacon - which is a fall flavor that david is dying to try

in the mornings we lounged around eating blueberry lemon bread from chez lulu and sipping coffee

sweet angel likes to entertain herself by cutting up paper with her safety scissors...in my slippers :)

saturday night we took sister to nabeel's for her birthday dinner. this is a to die for baked feta with greek seasoning and olive oil. yum.

Heather Lane, Sister and Sally Kate, thank you for traveling all the way here to spend time with me in my new home!! It was just what I needed. We've been having wedding withdrawals (aka spending time together), all of two months, so this was just fitting. We also surprised sister with a 30th birthday trip to New Orleans in January and we're so excited! Heather and I did a quasi surprise performance to debut the gift but it had nothing on my Rehearsal Dinner toast performance by my sister and brother! Counting down the days until next time...
