Happy Mother's Day! David and I are so blessed to have such wonderful mothers. It is hard to not be with either of them today but we will see them in a few weeks. We love you!

nacho ordinary cinco de mayo

Saturday was full of festivities! I worked at the store on Saturday but we managed to have a pretty good time. Kate and I donned hats for the Derby and I arranged for the Dreamcakes cupcake truck to park in our lot from 12-4:00pm. They sold over 13 dozen of their delicious cupcakes to our customers and to the employees!

Saturday night David and I went to a Cinco de Mayo party at Kate and Josh's house and it was so much fun. Lots of yummy Mexican food and new friends. Ole~

sights from a sip and see

A few weeks ago Chickadee hosted a Sip and See to promote our Bridal Registry business. We had a lovely time and enjoyed featuring some local talent. I love all things wedding and enjoyed getting to help plan and attend our very own Chickadee "reception". Here are some highlights ~

when the husband's away....

...The family comes to town!! David had a bachelor party he had to attend in Chicago last weekend so Mom and Dad graciously agreed to bring up the rest of our furniture and picked up Sister and Sally Kate on the way! We had the most wonderful time but missed David being there with us! It's no secret that SK loves her Uncle David and the entire weekend she talked about him - and talked to him on the phone, wanted to play pretend that I was David and she was Mary, and even made a video we e-mailed him saying that she missed him. She is at such a fun and imaginative age right now and I miss her terribly {her mommy too!}.

I couldn't resist picking up fresh flowers on the way home from dropping david off at the airport early friday morning...you can always count on a wholesale florist to be open early!

this was the first of many pictures she wanted to send to david...
sally kate helped water all of our plants and loves playing with griffy dog
david living it up at wrigley field!

she's been finding high heels in my closest since she could walk...I'm glad leopard is her pattern of choice

sk enjoyed visiting all her friends at chickadee and "working" with sister! she sported a new rhinestone headband from chickadee for the rest of the afternoon.

we treated dad to his first dreamland bbq experience for dinner on saturday night as a late birthday celebration - nothing beats white bread with bbq sauce and homemade banana pudding for dessert

late night shopping at wholefoods!

mom finally got to go to chez lulu...a favorite of the ruffles!
thanks mom and dad for all your help at the house!

we're the three best friends...

ain't nothing but an easter party!

We decided to stay in Alabama for Easter this year so we invited some of David's law school friends over for an Easter Lunch. It made me spring into action to try to make our new house decent. For the most part things were pretty put together - it took most of Saturday night to re-rearrange the unpacked boxes in the bedrooms. Slowly making progress on the home front!

at first I thought it would be nice for us all to sit in the dining room together to eat but the masters was on in the other room...I lost that one.

my easter treat from my sweet husband!

we moved on to buffet style instead...david made a delicious pasta and we got to debut our italian family pasta bowl

delicious mint tea with simple syrup was served

and we made bird's nest desserts to complete the meal! we had them last year at the campbell's and I just loved the idea. I added some delicious lemon shortbread cookies from chickadee to add a new flair.
