If you don't know already, I like to celebrate my birthday all month long. It's seems only fitting if your birthday is as close to Christmas as mine. You see, I get neglected for the other 10 months a year so I might has well live up my birth month :) {fyi - I can see several distinct faces of people who are rolling their eyes right now!}
Well this week as been absolutely fabulous and full of birthday celebratory dates! I had requested to go to Cypress for dinner on my birthday but it was closed on Monday so David treated me on Tuesday! It is one of my favorite restaurants. However, on my actual birthday I received some very wonderful gifts from him. He added another Christopher Radko ornament to my collection and some fancy black ballet flats I was in need of. My absolute favorite gift, however, was ballroom dance lessons!! I'm so excited! I've always been wanting to do this and he didn't even know. First class: next Wednesday!
Yesterday, Sally Kate and I went on a birthday date. Since we have been the bestest of friends since her birth, and her birthday is only 3 days after mine, we have decided to celebrate just the two of us each year {well, I created and decided this}. Dates will start small but eventually work up to weekends in New York City and the like. Yesterday, I picked her up from school and took her to The Cake Shop. We each ordered cupcakes. This was SK's first cake experience and well as you can see in the pictures below...she. likes. cake. It was such a fun time. She made an absolute mess and giggled as she shoved cake and mostly frosting into her mouth.
Next weekend the celebration continues in Birmingham with some marvy girls. Again, we're celebrating birthdays...and not just mine!
