She has done it again. Well, I guess she technically does it every month. Time to fess up on your love/hate relationship with Martha. Martha Stewart that is. Oh, don't get me wrong I do love me some Martha Stewart - party planner and hostess extraordinaire, not necessarily Miss Morals.
For the last few years sister has given me a subscription to Martha Stewart Living and I always look forward to it {wink,wink...keep them coming!}. My favorite article, so to say, is her very first feature in the magazine dutifully noted as Martha's Calendar. It brings a smile to my face. Besides it's an absolute hoot and you should immediately check one out!
I just received my August 2010 and while reading it at lunch, gave me the idea to share with others something that entertains me ever so slightly each month.
Now if you strive to be like MS, as we all do, you can organize your months just like Martha does by clicking here. You can even share some of the same activities programmed on her calendar. In case you were dying to know, Martha has yoga scheduled on the 2nd, 10th, 13th, 17th, 24th, and 31st of August along with working on her blog every Monday. She given her wisteria a last summer pruning on the 22nd and rotating lampshades to avoid uneven fading on the 24th all while vacating in Maine! whew.
Now, here's my question: does she actually stick to her calendar? Afterall, she has submitted it in print {not pencil, Meghan :)} for over several million people to see.
If only I could do the things she has scheduled. For me, I love a good calendar and daily to-do list. In fact I like to write them and re-write them over and over to keep them looking pretty. And I like my calendars tangible and in months-at-a-glance {like Martha} so that I can fill them in. In high school, I did have a PDA that I tried for several weeks to keep a digital planner but shortly ditched it after realizing that writing one digital list and one hard, hand-written list was maybe a little on the extreme side.
And for fun I fancy stylish agendas such as kate spade or Lilly Pulitzer ones. I stumbled upon the artist for kate spade's 2010 planner, Bella Foster who resides in Brooklyn, NY - she is fabulous!
If only I could keep a calendar like Martha's and actually stick to what's on it. And don't forget to wish Ms. Stewart a 'happy birthday' on August 2nd, as she so humbly noted for all of us to see {my kind of gal!}!
