lovebirds

I was looking forward to starting my weekend early last Friday as I had arranged to get off work at 2:00pm and begin my duties as Wedding Director. However, the stomach virus got the best of me when I woke up Friday morning and it ruined my day. I had multiple yakking episodes and the life was sucked out of me for 24 hours. I missed the rehearsal dinner and the rehearsal where I was unable to "establish authority" and lay down the law as director. Much to my relief, they threw in an understudy for me on Friday night. She graciously picked my notebook up from me on Friday and returned it to me Saturday morning since I had assured everyone I would be there. Oh, and don't worry she saw me in all my glory and I wondered if my understudy would even recognize me the next day. It was that bad!

I woke up Saturday feeling refreshed with a wedding to direct on the horizon. Thankfully, the color in my cheeks also came back. The wedding was held overlooking the lake at the Centerville Conservation Community. The weather was beautiful and the bird-esque details were perfect. It was a long day for me but the ceremony went on without a hitch and the reception was hoppin' with a blues band all the way from Savannah, Georgia. I was able to leave after the toasts which made my day because I was exhausted. I think everyone there knew I was the one who was deathly ill the day before. Nice, huh?

But as my official {I've had lots of unofficial experience bossing people around at weddings!} Wedding Director debut I must say it's not my cup of tea. I will discuss colors, flowers, and ideas all night long but I think I'm more into the pre-wedding festivities. I had a good experience but I just don't think it's for me. On the day of a wedding I either want to be in it or on the dance floor without a care in the world!

Many congratulations to Jess and Charlie ~ thank you for including me in your beautiful wedding day!

BEAUTIFUL cake! I could totally scarf it down right now. And I am surprised that you didn't take to the authority, but can seehow you'd like the talking part better. :)
