to market we go!

I'm exhausted from this weekend. Late Saturday night I had a thought that it was only Friday night to sadly realize that Saturday had already come and gone and the weekend was almost, gasp....over. All I can say is that spring has officially come and my dogwoods are starting to bloom so even though it's Monday, it's a good day.

On Friday, David and I attended The Florida Wine Festival in downtown Tallahassee. It is a fundraiser benefitting The Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science. It was a beautifully clear {and warm} night to enjoy friends, food, and wine tasting from Florida's vineyards.

The sunrise greeted me on Saturday morning as friend Laurie and I traveled to Atlanta for the Spring Gift, Home Furnishings and Holiday Market at AmericasMart!! We took a long day trip to go look for holiday decor and ribbons for this year's Jingle Jubilee - the Junior League of Tallahassee's annual holiday gift market. The year it's going to be bigger and better than before so we took the opportunity to check out some much needed decor early!

We had the best day and had access to all three buildings that included 5 floors of holiday showrooms that we successfully looked through as soon as we got there. As soon as we were done with our "work" we spent the rest of the day playing. First, we headed to the interior design accessories, lighting, and furniture floors. They were quite. simply. amazing. I visited several showrooms that I deal with through their catalogs on a weekly bases so it was fabulous to see their complete collection in person. Next, we were headed to the open showrooms at the apparel building where I spent most of my time at the estate jewelry showroom trying on baubles.

But, do you want to know what was the highlight of my day?! I ran into another one of Heather Lane's relatives :) It was Missy - cousin by marriage to one of heather lane's mom's cousins. Got that. She's in the Tennessee cousin brigade and I love her!! It was actually her sister Marci, whom I've never met but she reads this blog {hi Marci!}, who saw Laurie and I and hesitantly approached us. Thank goodness she did - it made my day.

So after 5 hours on our feet and countless showrooms down we were exhausted and hungry. We headed to Lenox to frequent a few retail shops and then it was off to Houstons where we both indulged in their tasty grilled chicken salad and Kahlua 5-nut brownie. Our day was complete.

On to the pictures of treasures I found throughout the day...and of course, Happy Spring!

Looks amazing and I think I would go absolutely crazy (in a good way) if I would have gone with you! Wow! It's like an Ikea full of Miss Mandy's goodies!
