Last night I volunteered for the Red Hills International Horse Trials welcome party for competitors, volunteers and sponsors. It's a very popular event held in Tallahassee each year but it seems to be under the radar unless you are part of the equestrian world - and no I don't own a horse even though I'm from Ocala {Horse Capital of the World!}. To read more about this fabulous equestrian click on the link but here are a few fun facts: it's an internationally recognized equestrian competition; 28 states and 11 countries participate; and this is the event's 13th year. It's going on this weekend!
I volunteered through the Junior League of Tallahassee and I collected tickets and greeted the guests at the front gazebo of the tented venue. Volunteer perks of the night included all you can eat Bonefish Grill catering, meeting competitors from all over the world, and a parking pass for the weekend's events. At the end of the night the perks outweighed the loss of feeling in my toes and fingers due to the freezing temps!
I had my RHHT last night so this weekend I'm headed to the St. George Island Chili Cook-off!
Happy much needed Friday!
